Anatomy / Physiology of Detox
Types of White Blood Cells
 There are 5 different types of white blood cells, each functions separately in protecting us from infection.  Differential classifies white blood cells (Leukocyte)  Neutrophils (50 – 70%)  Lymphocytes (24 – 45%)  Monocytes (3 – 8%)  Eosinophils (E-sin-o-fill) (3 – 4%)  Basophils (0.5 – 1%) © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
White blood cells are the principal components of the immune system and function by destroying “foreign” substances such as bacteria and viruses. When an infection is present, the production of WBCs increases. If the number of leukocytes is abnormally low (a condition known as leukopenia), infection is more likely to occur and is more difficult for the body to get rid of the infection (Health on the Net Foundation). © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438

 Lymphocytes  Directors/CEO of Company  33% (25-45%)  In Lymphocyte have  T-cells: Brain of immune system…like a huge computer…store memory…stores antibodies  B-cells: Make antibodies!  T-cells take care of tumors, bacteria, viruses, parasites – Cleans your plasma!  B-cells make antibodies – Figures out what the T-cells need! © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 6
 Leukocytes  Techie’s and IT people of company.  Make up 60% of all your WBC. Like huge amoeba’s.  Neutrophils: always cleaning waste out; will eat anything.  Virus’s cleaned by Monocytes: make up 4% of WBC; “eats” yeast!  Eosinophils/Basophils: 3%; eat parasitic infections; predominant inflammation cell. Basically T-cells direct the entire process. Leukocytes are the tech people and implement the process. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 7

LYMPH
 O2 moves your Lymph. Only O2 moves your Lymph. Does not have a pump like the heart moves your blood around.  Diaphragm (as you move, walk, run…) moves as a pump and helps move O2 and then Lymphatic.  Movement is crucial to Lymphatic health!  Lymph stores white blood cells. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 Made in bone marrow  Have stem cell (Mother cell). Needs correct info from the beginning – hormonal directions. Let’s look at a Lymph Cell… © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 15

White Blood Cells  Good WB count: 4.5 – 7.5  Does not say much…  Need to see a Differential  In that Differential, need to see a % Differential  Lymphocytes: In Differential (get a %) should be 33% of #  In Lymphocytes, you have T-cells & B-cells  Directors/CEO of company  Leukocytes  Tech & IT people © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 17
 T-cells: Brain of immune system…like a huge computer…store memory…stores antibodies  B-cells: Make antibodies  Examples, look at RBC float around in your plasma. Any waste products float around in plasma. High protein, high sugar, & high fat diets cause waste… T-cells take care of this waste! © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 T-cells take care of tumors, bacteria, virus, & parasites. FYI: Let’s say we have a new virus strain come into the system. New B-cells within 2 days will have figured out what kind of anti-body the T-cell needs. Then the T-cell will use that antibody and take care of that virus! We do it naturally. Main work for T-cells is to make sure your plasma is clean! © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 19
 Then comes Leukocytes…make up 60% of all your WBC.  Like huge amoeba.  One called Neutrophils…always cleaning waste out…will eat anything.  Virus…cleaned by Monocytes. Monocytes make up 4% of WBC.  Eosinophils: 3-4%  Basophils: .05-1% © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
Basically, the T-cells are directing this whole process and the Leukocytes are the tech people who implement the process. It’s a business!  Example: If we have a tumor…. In the past, it was thought your immune system did not know a tumor was an invader because it had its own system of blood…WRONG!  T-cells and B-cells start working on the tumor and give orders for the Eosinophils/Monocytes to drill holes in the tumor to destroy. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 21
FYI: If I eat a diet heavy in processed foods, the most important work is done by the Neutrophils…vacuum, clean and vacuum, clean…until they get the junk out of the plasma. Due to this cleaning process, which happens first, the more important deep cleaners have to wait until the vacuum cleaning is done. Then, the Eosinophils/Basophils will have to stay on low #’s…they are the crew that really knows what to do! But, they need O2, which comes from raw foods, enzyme-rich foods.  If you eat more raw, more enzyme-rich foods, you can drop the Neutrophils who do your surface cleaning to 30 (usually 60) and then the deep cleaners (Eosinophils/Basophils) can come in and do their job!
 People do not know what Detox really means!  By being on a living-food diet and exercising, you will bring in more O2.
 Find in Neck, Breast, Arm Pit, Groin  When swollen, means you are detoxing.  Need to move Lymphs…not an elimination organ…it is a fulltime system and dumps into the vascular system.
 Must be on living foods, enzyme-rich foods.  Need to rest.  Need to have bodywork…Polarity is best…massage, if the person knows what to do.  Trampoline/Rebounding.  Skin brush. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
LIVER
 The liver is the largest internal organ in the body…weighs about 3 lbs. in an adult…located in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen, just below the diaphragm. A thick capsule of connective tissue called Glisson’s capsule covers the entire surface of the liver. The liver is divided into a large right lobe & a smaller left lobe…the falciform ligament divides the two lobes.   Each lobe is further divided into lobules that are approx. 2mm high and 1mm in circumference. These hepatic lobules are the functioning units of the liver. Each of the approx. 1M lobules consists of a hexagonal row of hepatic cells called hepatocytes. The hepatocytes secrete bile into the bile channels…also perform a variety of metabolic functions. Between each row of hepatocytes are small cavities called sinusoids. Each sinusoid is lined with Kupffer cells, phagocytic cells that remove amino acids, nutrients, sugar, old RBCs, bacteria & debris from the blood that flows through the sinusoids. The main functions of the sinusoids are to destroy old or defective RBCs, to remove bacteria & foreign particles from the blood, & to detoxify toxins & other harmful substances. Approx. 1500 ml of blood enters the liver each minute, making it one of the most vascular organs in the body. 75% of the blood flowing to the liver comes through the portal vein; the remaining 25% is oxygenated blood that is carried by the hepatic artery.  The liver is a huge Detoxing System! (Reference Source: www.rnceus.com) © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 Bile production & excretion.  Excretion of bilirubin, cholesterol, hormones & drugs.  Metabolism of fats, proteins, & carbohydrates.  Enzyme activation.  Storage of glycogen, vitamins, & minerals.  Synthesis of plasma proteins, such as albumin & globulin, & clotting factors.  Blood detoxification & purification. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 28
 The liver synthesizes & transports bile pigments & bile salts that are needed for fat digestion. Bile is a combination of water, bile acids, bile pigments, cholesterol, bilirubin, phospholipids, potassium, sodium & chloride. Primary bile acids are produced from cholesterol. When bile acids are converted or “conjugated” in the liver, they become bile salts.  Bilirubin is the main bile pigment that is formed from the breakdown of heme in RBCs.  The liver plays an important role in metabolizing nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, & fats. The liver helps metabolize carbohydrates in 3 ways. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 The liver synthesizes about 50 grams of protein each day, primarily in the form of albumin.  Liver cells also chemically convert amino acids to produce ketoacids and ammonia, from which urea is formed and excreted in the urine.  Digested fat is converted in the intestine to triglycerides, cholesterol, phospholipids, & lipoproteins.  Prothrombin & fibrinogen…substances needed to help blood coagulate… are both produced by the liver. The liver also produces the anticoagulant heparin & releases vasopressor substances after hemorrhage. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 Liver cells protect the body from toxic injury by detoxifying potentially harmful substances.  By making toxic substances more water soluble, they can be excreted from the body in the urine.  The liver also has an important role in vitamin storage.  High concentrations of riboflavin & Vitamin B1 are found in the liver. 95% of the body’s Vitamin A stores are concentrated in the liver. The liver also contains small amounts of Vitamin C, most of the body’s Vitamin D stores, & Vitamins E & K. (Reference Source: www.rnceus.com) © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 31
 The Liver is the biggest gland in the human’s body. It is about 2.5% of body weight, an average of 1.5 kg in men and 1.2 kg in women.  In general, the liver performs more than 500 different functions, participating in the regulation glucose (sugar) in the blood, accumulating nutrients—vitamins, iron, glycogen, producing bile to help break down fats.  But the main function of the liver is the barrier—cleansing. This is a powerful filter—neutralizing toxins, which produced by metabolic reactions that converts toxic compounds— removes & destroys the bacteria. It takes the blow in case of poisoning, drug overdoses and poor nutrition. The liver rarely makes itself felt in the beginning of the disease. Usually, when there are symptoms, it has been already seriously ill. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 Removal of this organ inevitably leads to death within 1-5 days. However, the liver has huge domestic reserves…has the amazing ability to recover from injury…so we can survive even after the removal of 70% of the liver tissue.  The liver produces a large number of liver enzymes entering directly into the blood. When liver is damaged, some liver enzymes in the blood serum are decreased, while others— increased. (Reference Source: www.liverenzymes.net) © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 33
 Liver enzymes are proteins that help to speed up chemical reactions in the liver.  LDH – non specific liver enzyme (100-200)  SGPT – gallbladder  Alkaline Phosphatase – produced in bile duct & bones  Total Bilirubin – food related, less than 1.0  GGT – major liver enzyme  SGOT – major liver enzyme © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 SGOT & GGT – if more serious, should be screened.  Bilirubin – less than 1.0  Alkaline Phosphatase – not above 100. Has to do with bones; we take minerals out of the bones.  SGPT – to do with gallbladder. 10 to 15 (drops to 9, if problem).  LDH – non specific liver enzyme…100-200…relates to tissue around the heart after surgery, upper 1,000. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 Liver helps you with sugar balances.  Pancreas takes care of insulin balance so you do not have too much sugar in your blood.  Liver recovers faster than any organ…rebuilds faster than any organ.  Caisse’s Tea…liver flush…2 years minimum.  Liver makes a quart of bile every day & it is stored in the gallbladder. The gallbladder is the size of an avocado!  Gallbladder is the last pocket before it goes into the small intestines.  When RBCs die (they live 120 days)…go into the spleen to recycle. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 36
 Iron & protein go to the gallbladder.  Fats are digested in the small intestines.  Bile digests the fats! Looks like heavy wax paste!  Can get gallstones if you are not digesting fats.  Cut a gallstone in half…find layers of undigested fats!  High levels of protein is criminal in many ways! We can only digest 4 grams at any time. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 Cleanse by fasting.  Water fast cannot cleanse like live juices can!  Colon cleanse implant; chlorophyll implant.  Add flaxseed water  Consume 1 part flaxseed to 5 parts good H2O  Has Lecithin & Omega-3  Protects gastrointestinal tract  Eat garlic (3-5 cloves) with an apple 3 times per day  Liver flushes are very important (more details in Implementation) © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 You digest carbohydrates in liver…to simple sugar.  Best breakdown in liver…green juices…90% carbs…5% protein…every cell relies on this!  Carbs are easily digested in liver…best ones are plant, greens, & live foods.  When you do grains and pasta, totally different route through liver.  Green plant/juices give you the right sugar. If you do not get it from right source, you will crave it from bad sources…“Twinkies.”  Every cell in your body screams “give me sugar” if you do not get it from a productive live enzyme source like green juices…then, you CRAVE it and never get satisfied…ever!  Body will get what you need…sugarbabies.  Eat algae chlorella, blue green…will give support you need! Without side effects! © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 39
LUNGS
 Breathing is important because your body needs the oxygen in the air you breathe to create the energy that keeps you alive!  When fresh air is breathed in through the nose and mouth, it is pulled through the windpipe or trachea and into the lungs. You have two lungs, the right lung being slightly larger than the left. From the windpipe, the air moves through two large passageways called the bronchi. A complex system of much smaller tubes or bronchioles branch out from your bronchi to carry oxygen to the “working parts” of the lungs—the millions of air sacs or alveoli. These small sacs (like tiny folded balloons) have very thin walls that are full of blood vessels. The walls are so thin the oxygen in the air can pass through them to enter your bloodstream and travel to cells in all parts of your body.  So, when you breathe in, you are inhaling oxygen…the “fuel” to make your body cells work. And when you breathe out, you are exhaling the byproduct of your body cells’ work…a gas called carbon dioxide…often called “used” air. Carbon dioxide is exhaled with every breathe you blow out of your lungs. (Reference Source: www.nlhep.org) © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 41
 Lung function normally peaks in the late teens and early twenties.  After the early twenties, lung function declines about 1% a year over the rest of a person’s lifetime.  Lung function decreases about 2% a year for people who smoke! (Reference Source: www.mamashealth.com) © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 Your lungs do a vital job!  Each day, you take about 23,000 breaths, which bring almost 10,000 quarts of air into your lungs.  Air you breathe in contains several gases, including oxygen, that our cells need to function.  With each breath, your lungs add fresh oxygen to your blood, which then carries it to your cells.  The main function of your lungs is respiration. (Reference Source: www.mamashealth.com) © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 Respiration is the process of oxygen from incoming air entering the blood, and carbon dioxide, a waste gas from the metabolism of food, leaving the blood. (Reference Source: www.mamashealth.com) © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 44
 Lungs remove CO2  If you were a RBC…have to pick up CO2 (waste)…detox from your digestive process…and bring it to the lungs…fill up with O2 and distribute all around to the cells.  80/20 Rule  If you are on a:  processed diet…80% CO2  living diet…20% CO2  Can you imagine how much easier it would be for your system if it had only 20% CO2 (waste to get rid of)? © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 Lungs have cilia hair-like structures  Villi in colon move like hair-like substances. These make sure that any allergen bacteria does not get to bottom of lungs.  Dairy is very tough on cilia…helps to calcify the cilia! Therefore, cannot protect any more.  Tonsils (major lymph gland) have WBC that stop things before they get to the lungs.  Flour, wheat, & dairy inhibit lung function.  Alveoli…little holes…exchange gases.  Asthma, allergies, infections, & mucous will cover & inhibit alveoli. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
KIDNEYS
Kidneys are dark-red, bean-shaped organs. One side bulges outward (convex); the other side is indented (concave). A cavity attached to the indented side is called the Renal Pelvis, which extends into the ureter. Each kidney is enclosed in a transparent membrane called the renal capsule…which helps to protect them against infections & trauma. It is divided into 2 main areas…a light outer area called the renal cortex…a darker inner area called the renal medulla. Within the medulla there are 8 or more cone-shaped sections known as renal pyramids. Areas between the pyramids are called renal columns. Kidney Anatomy & Excretion: Most basic structures of kidneys are nephrons. Inside each kidney are about 1M of these microscopic structures & are responsible for filtering the blood…removing waste products. Renal artery delivers blood to the kidneys every day. When blood enters the kidneys, it is filtered & returned to the heart via the renal vein. Process of separating wastes from the body fluids & eliminating them is known as excretion. Body has 4 organ systems responsible for excretion, one of which is the urinary system…it excretes a broad variety of metabolic wastes, toxins, drugs, hormones, salts, hydrogen irons & water. The kidneys are the main organs of the urinary system. Kidney Anatomy & Blood Vessels: The kidney is full of blood vessels, which are integral to efficient kidney function. Every function of the kidney involves blood; therefore, it requires a lot of blood vessels to facilitate these functions. Together, the two kidneys contain about 160 km of blood vessels. Kidney Location: The normal kidney location is towards the back of the abdominal cavity, just above the waist…with your hands on your hips…your kidneys are located just about where your thumbs are. One kidney is normally located just below the liver, on the right side of the abdomen; the other is just below the spleen on the left side.  Get rid of the waste product…uric acid.  Uric acid…3.5 female…5.5 male. Uric acid is very important…determines acidity.  When you detox…uric acid counts go up 8-12…must work on getting rid of uric acid.  Creatine liver enzyme  80% alkaline…20% acid  pH 7.4 in blood!  Urine & saliva should be slightly acidic…mirror of who you are. Saliva/urine tests are very accurate. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 Cleanse kidney & bladder  Use something very acidic like cranberry juice…do not use cranberry otherwise. It is within an acid condition that you get a bladder infection.  Then, you have to make a super acid condition where the bacteria cannot survive.  Use organic cranberry juice concentrate  Dilute 6-7 times…drink 3-4 quarts per day. Do not drink green drinks or anything alkaline.  Going to make a super acid condition…no lemon juice as soon as the saliva turns alkaline. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
 Then, add organic apple cider vinegar.  Take a tablespoon 3 times per day in 8 oz. of water  Then, get cranberry pills…CranActin…take for 3-4 days as directed  If arthritic, DO NOT do this. This mainly for bladder infections. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 51

 7 times your Height!  25-28’ Small / 5-8’ Large  90% of foods are digested in Small Intestines—fat & cholesterol too.  If food sits in Large Intestine, we re-absorb toxins…sits and ferments.  Cleanse is more enema, cleaning & fasting. Detox eliminates deep toxic material.  When constipated…debris ferments…we get toxic. © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438
Skin has to take care of everything! Breathe through the skin.  Temperature of Body  Hygiene is not deodorant! Hygiene is Diet, Exercise, Bodywork & Perspiration.  If you do not perspire, try a Ginger Bath. Fill bath tub with hot water & add one cup of finely ground ginger.  Put things on your body that breathe, like cotton & hemp; not polyester & nylon.  Skin absorbs internally whatever you put on it! © Institute of Holistic Health Careers 2010, All Rights Reserved. holistichealthcareers.com, (614) 299-9438 54
